ROLLERSKATING CLUB FOR CLASS 4

Class 4 were very excited to have their turn at rollerskating club. They particularly enjoyed the Limbo and playing corners. Remember - your child does not need their own skates to join in - we have plenty!

CLASS 4 SQUASH

Hurrah! The children are so pleased to have their squash lessons again! This week they learned about controlling the ball and how to use their raquet. It was a lot more tricky than it seemed!

OUR CLASS!

What a wonderful start to the school year! Class 1 have enjoyed learning both in and out of the classroom.

MATHS WHIZZ IN CLASS 3

The children have really enjoyed working on Maths Whizz. They are keen to improve their maths ability (and really enjoy playing the fun maths games!)

CLASS 3 FOREST SCHOOL

Class 3 enjoyed their first session in Forest School this week. It was so lovely to see them applying everything they had learned last year and enjoy themselves outdoors.

ART IN CLASS 3

In art this week, Class 3 looked at how artists can convey emotions using warm colours and cool colours. They were then challenged to create a picture using either just warm or just cold colours. They produced some great art work which they were very proud of!

Sensory Space

We are making a few changes within the school to create better provision for all children. As part of the changes, we have moved our sensory space into another area. There is still work to be carried out to make this space perfect, but we have ensured the children have somewhere they can go to and be supported if they are feeling overwhelmed or dysregulated. Staff are always on hand to support and lend a helping hand or listening ear when required. We will update with photos as the changes take place!

The photos below are from 2024 -2025. Although some of the children have now moved on to start their journey through secondary education, we will keep the photos on here for a while longer to remind us of all the amazing things we did last year! 

ICE CREAM TREAT IN CLASS 1

Class 1 enjoyed an ice cream treat at the end of term. How delicious!

CLASS 3 ART WORK

The children from Class 3 enjoyed creating art based on the works of a number of famous artists. They were all incredibly proud of the pictures they created in the style of LS Lowry. I am sure you will agree they are great pictures!

Class 1 visit to Abberton Reservoir

Classes 1 and 2 spent the day at Abberton Reservoir Nature Reserve. What a fantastic day they had, hunting for minibeasts, pond dipping and having great fun in nature. Huge thanks to all the staff for planning and organising such a fun day out!

SPORTS DAY

The children enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day on 25th June. Thank you to all the family and friends who came along to support the children on a very hot and sunny day! The children were excited to be working in their Colour Teams this year - and Ruby were delighted to win!

CLASS 1 PE

Class 1 enjoyed an exciting PE lesson where they were looking at moving and stopping. They used the bikes in their outdoor area for this lesson and had great fun!

YEAR 1 ROLLERSKATING CLUB

It is the turn for year 1's to take part in rollerskating club this half term. They had a brilliant first week and enjoyed staying upright, playing corners and doing the limbo (which they took VERY seriously!). Remember, if your Year 1 child wants to take part, we have plenty of skates! Sessions run from 3.15-4.00 on Fridays!

FOREST SCHOOL FUN WITH CLASS 1

Class 1 enjoyed their first forest school session this week. They were lucky to have a bit of sunshine and they all had a brilliant time!

CLASS 3 CALL OF THE WILD

CLASS 3 had an amazing day at Call of the Wild. They enjoyed seeing and learning about the animals. Perfect way to end their topic on Rainforests.

CLASS 2 ART - CREATING SCULPTURE

Class 2 started learning about sculpture by exploring ways to fold, twist and stick paper to create 3D artwork. I think you will agree they did a great job!

 

The children and staff enjoyed taking part in the Mini Marathon! They ran, jogged or walked for 2 miles - 10 times around the school field! The children were amazing and supported and encouraged each other so well! Thank you and well done all of you!

It is the time for Year 2 to have fun in rollerskating club! Every Friday this half term between 3.15 - 4.00. Don't worry if you don't have skates - we have enough for everyone! Come along and join the fun!

WWI VR DAY IN CLASS 4

Class 4 were really lucky to have the World War 1 Aviation Heritage Trust come to visit for the day. This is a charity who have been able to provide Virtual Reality Days in schools, giving children the opportunity to immerse themselves in finding out about WWI. The children had an amazing day, learning about aviation in WW1 from a pilot, writing poems on seeded paper which will be dropped in France, drawing planes and experiencing the feeling of being a pilot during WWI in the flight simulator. What an amazing opportunity!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The children said, "It was amazing!", "It was very interesting", "A sensational experience!", "Such a fun, exciting day!" and "An engaging experience!". 

Children were keen to have a colouring club! Anyone who wants to come along for a bit of relaxing colouring and a chance to chat with friends is more than welcome. Tuesdays from 3.15-4.00.

It's been a busy time for Year 5 with a real focus on keeping safe. Today was the final part of their Bikeability training. The instructors were very impressed with their excellent listening skills and the mature way they took on board all they were taught. Well done!

Year 5 spent the morning learning about Road Safety and how to follow the rules-

They were all supervised to show us how they can safely cross the roads. Well done to you all.
